Somerset Wedding Photographers - Spring wedding inspiration
Spring weddings are definitely some of our favourites to photograph, it’s such a beautiful time of year. The welcome change of warmer weather and those spring time blooms such as hyacinths, tulips, garden roses and ranunculus make spring the perfect season to get married. And not to mention our favourite wedding flowers peonies that make an appearance around May/June!
We believe spring is the time to embrace all things floral, from garden weddings to woodland weddings. And you can lighten up your colour scheme by using delicate pastels of soft pinks and lilacs to powder blue, or adding a pop of brightness with yellow.
Now is the time to consider an outdoor wedding, especially from April where the last 2 years have been considerably warm! It's always a great idea to have a back up plan (this IS England after all!) so consider using blankets, umbrellas and good old fashioned wellington boots on your day.
You can incorporate fragrant details into your day by using lavender or even rosemary into details like your bouquet or dotted around your evening reception. And using pots of filled with fragrant herbs like basil or sage placed on your tables or flower pots centre pieces will give a truly English garden feel to your wedding day. Why not have little packets of seeds as wedding favours? We love this idea!
If your spring wedding venue has beautiful grounds or gardens, make the most of them with some stunning photos of just the two of you. And keep an eye out for blossom trees as they make a stunning background for wedding photos. Spring can be a great time of year for a garden inspired wedding, think afternoon tea, lawn games, and marquees.
You can give way to the darker, dramatic look of winter and opt for more of a boho look with your hair and make up in spring. Think flower crowns and soft neutrals for your make up like pinks or lilacs for a fresher look.
And don’t forget lots of fruit and vegetables are in season in spring so embrace a seasonal menu! Think asparagus with your starters, new potatoes & turnips with your mains, and delicious fruity cocktails to serve, anyone for Pimms?
