Autumn Wedding at Cambridge Cottage, Kew Gardens
Autumn weddings at Kew Gardens are fast becoming a firm favourite for us. The colours on the trees, the low sunlight that us photographers love, and touches of gold…..just like the brides gold sparkly shoes!! Lucy & Edwin chose beautiful Cambridge Cottage at Kew Gardens for their ceremony. The former royal residence of the Duke of Cambridge, Cambridge Cottage is located in a quiet part of Kew Gardens and is just perfect for an autumn wedding.
It was a crisp September morning as the bride got ready at her parents’ house accompanied by her best friend. They were chatting and giggling as they had their hair & make up expertly done, a quick glass of bubbly and it was time to for Lucy step into her romantic wedding dress and just the prettiest pair of gold sparkly shoes we have ever seen!
Edwin arrived at the Coach & Horses pub on Kew Green ahead of the ceremony, joined by his best man they both enjoyed a drink before making the short walk over to Kew Gardens. The bride arrived in the cutest VW camper van adorned with pretty flowers and made her way into Cambridge Cottage. Lucy was escorted down the aisle by her father as soft music played, Edwin’s face lit up when he saw her! It was a beautiful service inside the intimate ceremony room that looks out onto the picturesque Dukes Garden.
Everyone made their way out onto the lawn for the bubble confetti exit which is always so much fun! After a few drinks and time spent chatting to their guests the newlyweds joined us aboard the Kew buggy and we headed into the gardens for some couple portraits. We used the grounds of the Iconic Kew Gardens to take some beautiful photos of the newlyweds, As we are preferred suppliers for Kew Gardens we know all the perfect spots for photographs. We stopped off at King Williams Temple and our favourite spot, the Rock Gardens, before making our way back for the evening reception.
Everyone enjoyed the delicious menu and the speeches were made. We always get really excited to see the wedding cake the couple have chosen and oh were we in for a surprise! A blush and gold wedding cake adorned with sugar dahlias was waiting for the bride and groom to cut into. Then they took to the dance floor for their first dance under the chandelier adorned drawing room, pure romance!
We said goodbye to everybody and left them dancing the night away as we headed back to Somerset, reminiscing about what an amazing day it was on the way home. Congratulations Lucy & Edwin, thank you for letting us be a part of your wonderful day. And thank you once again to the amazing team at Cambridge Cottage, they really know how to put on a fantastic wedding day at Kew Gardens!
