Wedding at the Bingham, Richmond, London
We were so excited when Gemma & Mark contacted us to photograph their wedding at the Bingham in Richmond, London. They were both guests at the wedding of their friends Jo & David in Greenwich the year before and had loved the way we worked. That meant so much to us! And the more we heard about their wedding plans, the more excited we got for their day!
Gemma & Mark met through mutual friends and were friends themselves for years before they got together on a holiday to Ibiza with all their friends back on 2007!
Mark proposed at a hotel in Mayfair. As Gemma recalls “Mark had booked a table for dinner at The Mandarin Oriental. We started to get ready when I received a phone call, it was Tesco trying to deliver my shopping which I had booked for the wrong day! Little did I know just before the phone rang Mark had the ring in his hand ready to get down on one knee so he quickly put the ring back in the safe until I had sorted out the Tesco fiasco! Once I got off the phone Mark called me over to look at a video his mum had sent of our children, Elliott and Eve. Mark played the video of the children asking “Mummy will you marry Daddy” Mark got down on one knee and presented me with the most beautiful ring!” How romantic!
Gemma got ready at the Richmond Hill Hotel with her seven bridesmaids, including our previous bride Jo! There was lots of laughter as they were getting ready. Then Gemma’s children Elliot & Eve joined them. A black London taxi arrived and the bride was on her way to the Bingham.
Mark was waiting at the venue with his best men, the sun was shining and everyone was in high spirits. Mark had to hold back the tears as his children made heir way down the aisle ahead of his beautiful bride. It was a wonderful ceremony, it was so elegant, with white and green flowers everywhere, supplied by our very first bride, Nicola! The newlyweds made their way back down the aisle with all their guests congratulating them with confetti.
The Bingham is set on the banks of the river Thames, and we used this as a backdrop for their stunning photos. Gemma & Mark did not stop chatting and laughing, you could tell these two were made for each other.
Back at the Bingham, the speeches were made, there was a few hilarious jokes, even we found ourselves laughing out loud at times! There was also a lot of emotion, Mark gave a really heartfelt speech, it was obvious his family mean the world to him.
After a superb meal, everyone headed outside for the cake cutting. Then it was time to hit the dance floor. The band the couple booked meant a lot to them, they even set their wedding date around the band! Needless to say, after the first dance, everyone hit the dance floor, these lot know how to party!! We left them to enjoy the night, what a fantastic day.
