Orchardleigh House wedding - Somerset wedding venues
Emma & Laurence had the most beautiful, relaxed wedding day in late June at Orchardleigh House in Frome which is a stunning Somerset wedding venue in the heart of the English countryside. They both got ready on site at Orchardlegih Estate which makes for such a stress free wedding morning! We arrived to Muntry Lodge where the bride Emma was being pampered whilst singing (and dancing!) along with her bridesmaids to all her favourite Disney classics! There was such a great atmosphere and a real sense of excitement for the day ahead.
The groom Laurence was getting ready at Castle West, yes you read that right, you can stay the night in your very own Castle at Orchardleigh Estate! All his groomsmen were by his side, all dressed in their Star Wars socks ready to make their way to the main house ahead of the wedding ceremony.
The bridal party headed to the beautiful bridal suite at Orchardleigh House for the finishing touches, the light and decor in this suite are just perfect for a few bridal portraits, and when we saw how amazing Emma looked in her stunning wedding dress we knew the photos were going to be something special! The bride and groom had their heart set on holding a ‘First touch’ before the ceremony so we brought Laurence up to the bridal suite and they held hands on either side of the door and spent a few moments together, it was such magical moment to photograph!! There were tears in front of (and behind) the camera!
The wedding ceremony was held outside in the Belvedere at Orchardleigh House, which with an abundance of columns and light coloured brickwork has a Grecian feel to it, what an idyllic spot to say ‘I do’! We had become quite good friends with Emma & Laurence in the lead up to the big day, it was absolutely amazing to see the two of them finally have their ideal wedding day after postponing from 2021. It was a beautiful ceremony, you could really see the love and connection between the couple, it was hard to hold back a few tears at times!
We all headed onto the lawn for the all important confetti shot. We let everybody relax and have a few drinks on the grounds of this breathtaking country estate surrounded by the Somerset countryside before a few family formals. We whisked the newlyweds away for their couple portraits, our favourite part of any wedding day!! They were naturals in front of the camera, and with the backdrop of Orchardleigh House we captured some beautiful shots.
Everybody headed inside the Mansion for the wedding breakfast, the speeches were made and then the bride surprised the groom with the ever popular singing waiters!! There were cheers and clapping as the waiters grabbed their microphones and starting singing to everyone before everybody got on their feet and started singing and dancing along, it was really good fun!!
After dinner it was time for the cake cutting, the wedding cake was made by one of the family and Grandma had made the beautiful sugar flowers, such a lovely personal touch! The couple had one last surprise for everyone, a choreographed first dance!! We had a blast photographing this first dance!! It was so hard to keep the cameras steady as we found ourselves cheering and laughing along with all the guests.
Emma & Laurence, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us as your Orchardleigh House wedding photographers!! We enjoyed every moment and will always have such great memories from your beautiful wedding day at Orchardleigh Estate.
Much love, J&K x
