Coombe Lodge wedding photographers

Ever since Anna & Jamie booked us as their Coombe Lodge wedding photographers back in 2019, we have been looking forward to their wedding day so much! Despite it being a year later than planned, it was SO worth the wait.

The day started in the beautiful bridal suite at this stunning Somerset wedding venue, Kerrie headed up to where the girls were all being pampered and drinking Prosecco, there was such a relaxed atmosphere, and lots of giggles and laughs. The guys were getting ready in another part of the wedding venue so James spent the morning with them whilst they were getting ready an enjoying a few beers. We love the fact there are two of us so we can capture everything going on in the morning.

The bride Anna stepped into her beautiful satin wedding dress, with off-the-shoulder straps and a sweetheart neckline, it was pure elegance! The brides mum attached the veil, one last quick make up check and it was time to make our way downstairs to the music room. With stunning chandeliers and striking views out of the large bay windows, it is such a romantic setting for a wedding ceremony.

As the music began and the flower girls led the procession, the groom got a little teary, the atmosphere in the room was electric. It’s always so hard not to get a little emotional ourselves, even after photographing weddings for 8 years, this moment gets us every single time! And as the bride made her way down, accompanied b her brother who was holding a small bouquet in memory of the brides father, we must admit a little tear was shed.

It was a wonderful ceremony, made even better by the cutest ring bearer, their little Border Terrier, Cooper! He came bounding down the aisle, wedding rings swinging on his collar, stopping to say hello to everyone along the way. There were smiles all round, readings were made, the rings were exchanged and everyone cheered as the couple had their first kiss as husband and wife. The newlyweds were showered with confetti as they made their exit out onto the betaking grounds at Coombe lodge.

After a few family formal photos, we whisked the new Mr & Mrs away for some couple portraits. Using the back drop of this stunning Bristol wedding venue makes our jobs as wedding photographers so much easier! The majestic country house is surrounded by the rolling countryside of North Somerset, with views over the Mendip Hills and Blagdon Lake, it truly is a dream location for a wedding. Cooper joined us for a few fun photos, we absolutely love it when couples bring their dogs along, as owners of a Boston Terrier ourselves, we know just how much our pets are like family to us!

We all made our way back inside for the wedding breakfast, the music room was adorned with foliage and gypsophila, and as the bride and groom are teachers, their pupils had drawn photos on the back of the place names, how stinking cute is that?!! We especially loved the one of Cooper. Everyone was treated to delicious food, and the speeches were made. After a few trips to the photo booth, the cake had been cut and the bride and groom headed to the dance floor for the first dance.
