Coombe Lodge wedding photography

Weddings at Coombe Lodge in Blagdon are pure magic!! From the stunning Manor house to the beautiful grounds, we always get a little too excited when returning to photograph a wedding at this dream Bristol wedding venue, and this wedding was no exception!

We arrived on a sunny May morning, we always like to arrive a little early so we can prepare for the day ahead, we took a few location shots and then the girls started to arrive. We accompanied them up to the gorgeous bridal suite at Coombe Lodge where the pampering and prosecco pouring began!  The bride Joyce had so many pretty little details, so we got to photographing them all whilst the girls were chatting and laughing whilst having their hair and make up done. Oh, the Charlotte Mills shoes were just stunning!! A perfect match for the Pronovias dress with delicate layers of lace petals and a sweetheart neckline.

It was a beautiful sunny day so the couple had an outdoor ceremony at Coombe Lodge, the groom Jake was waiting with all his groomsmen, the guests were greeted and seated and the ceremony began. As ‘Hallelujah’ was played, the bride made her entrance, and there were quite a few tears from the groom, and everyone else including us! It was a beautiful ceremony in an idyllic spot, the couple exchanged vows and the crowd cheered as they had their first kiss as husband and wife. 

The newlyweds made their way through the confetti line and everyone enjoyed drinks on the lawn. We let the guests congratulate the couple and after a few family formals, we whisked the bride and groom away for some beautiful couple portraits around the grounds of Coombe Lodge. We absolutely love Spring weddings, it’s such a lovely time of year to get married at Coombe Lodge, the wisteria was in full bloom and made for some magical photos. 

All the guests headed in for the wedding breakfast, the food at Coombe Lodge is second to none and the guests were treated to the most delicious food and drink in the music room. The speeches were made, we found ourselves laughing along with everyone as stories of the couple were told, and as always there was the odd tear when all the loved ones were remembered. Joyce & Jakes family were a real heartwarming bunch, you could see the close bond between the families and it was a pleasure to be around such lovely wedding guests.

As everyone enjoyed a few more drinks as the rooms were being turned around for the evening reception, we took the couple away for a few more photos before they made their way back to cut the cake and take to the dance floor for their first dance before everybody joined them on the dance floor to dance the night away.
