Coombe Lodge Wedding

Coombe Lodge is a beautiful wedding venue hidden on the outskirts of Bristol, renowned for its lush English gardens and impressive views over Blagdon Lake & we had the most amazing day in June photographing the incredible wedding of our lovely couple Fay & Mike. As soon as we met these two for their pre wedding shoot back in April we just knew we were going to have the best wedding day ever with them!

We arrived early to the venue, the birds were chirping away and the morning sun was already glowing through the trees, Fay got ready in the stunning bridal suite at Coombe Lodge along with her two bridesmaids, it was such a relaxed morning as our friend Leanna did the hair & makeup. Mike was getting ready with his groomsmen and grooms maid at the other side of the house before heading down to greet the guests.

The couple decided to have their ceremony outdoors, surrounded by towering trees and the back drop of the house and as the guests began to arrive, they were greeted by expansive lawns and carefully curated gardens, it felt like stepping into a storybook—a perfect canvas for a summer wedding. Guests had the perfect view of the couple as they promised forever to each other, with the scent of the fresh blooms from the gardens & the warm summer breeze it was just magical.

Following the ceremony we invited everybody to line up for one of our favourite moments of the wedding day, the confetti exit. The brides mother had been growing and drying wildflowers for some time in preparation for the wedding and it was a pure delight to see it showered over the couple as they walked along the winding path set against the main house. Guests were invited to enjoy drinks on the lawn as we took the newlyweds away for a few couple portraits on the grounds of Coombe Lodge.

We all headed back for the wedding reception and the remaining wildflowers were scattered across the top table, our friend Alison had styled the Music room beautifully. The cuisine at Coombe Lodge is legendary and everybody enjoyed the most delicious food (including us!) and the all important speeches were made. The bride and grrom cut into their pretty wedding cake which was adorned with fresh flowers before heading to the dance floor for a romantic first dance. The couple really hoped for a beautiful golden hour, and as the sun began to set, the golden glow appeared and we snuck the couple away for a few a few sunset portraits, it was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
