Boho wedding at Walton Castle in Somerset
Castle wedding venues in Somerset
A 17th century English castle, sparkly DM’s, an epic first dance and the most incredible couple?? Where do we sign up?! Nic & Jamie contacted us after Nic was a bridesmaid for one of our previous JK brides Naomi back in 2022, and now it was Naomi’s turn to be bridesmaid and it was so, so lovely to for us to be back with this bunch of incredible friends. This English wedding was bursting with autumnal colours of burnt oranges and chocolate brown tweed suits, the whole day was the epitome of a good old English country wedding, talk about a dream of a day!
Nic got ready at her parents house, there was music dancing & lots & lots of hugs! It was unusually warm & sunny for an October wedding which we were so happy about, we adore Autumn weddings when the weather is on our side. The groom Jamie got ready at Walton Castle in Clevedon, his groomsmen were joking around as they all prepared for the day, the Land Rovers arrived and everybody made their way to the Church.
The Vicar was one of the nicest people we had ever met, the service was not only heartfelt & respectful, there was a lot of humour & good fun thrown in there too!! From the captivating Dr Seuss reading by the brides Grandfather to the gifts the Vicar presented to the couple, and a few joyous songs were sang too.
The wedding reception was held at the quirky Walton Castle, with a medieval courtyard and views over North Somerset it really is such a unique Somerset wedding venue! It was lovely catching up with our previous JK couple Naomi & Sonny too, you can see their beautiful day here. We stole the newlyweds away for a few couple photos, the bride was adorned with a pretty floral crown which we absolutely loved, more flower crowns please!! They joined their guests and enjoyed drinks & food in the courtyard surrounded by the Castle walls, it felt like we were back in Medieval times, and with all the fun hats passed out the wedding guests the atmosphere was pure magic.
The groom was given the task of finding their first dance song, and as the bride and groom took centre stage on the cobbled floor of the courtyard, the music began and “I believe in a thing called love” by The Darkness blared out full blast reverberating off the Castle walls as the groom swung his new bride around the dance floor, what a moment!!!
Nic & Jamie, your wedding day at Walton Castle was absolutely incredible!! You are a joy to be around, how can we call this ‘work’ when we had so much fun!!!!
Much love J&K x
