Beautiful May wedding with cream and blue hues - Somerset Photographers

Before we left London to become Somerset wedding photographers, we met the very lovely Claire & James who were planning their wedding in Windsor. And even though they had to reschedule their day to a year later, AND change their wedding venue at the last minute, they finally had their beautiful wedding day in May!

Kerrie arrived to the bride and spent a fun hour photographing the bridal prep, oh how we have missed this!! There was such a relaxed atmosphere as the girls drank Prosecco and had their hair & make up done, then the bride stepped into her beautiful wedding dress ready to leave for Windsor.

James was at the Windsor Guildhall as the groom arrived with his groomsmen, they all looked so smart in their navy suits and floral ties. Everyone headed inside to the stunning Council Chamber, adorned with Royal portraits and two great chandeliers - on loan from HM the Queen no less! - and awaited the arrival of the bride.

It was such an emotional ceremony, after the rollercoaster of a ride the couple had been on, you could see the pure joy in their eyes as they took their vows. It was a privilege to think that Prince Charles and Camilla had married in this very room, and now our lovely JK couple were saying their I do’s here too.

We headed outside for a confetti exit, Claire had ordered some amazing confetti from our favourite company Shropshire petals! After a few formal photos, all the guests headed to the riverside whilst we took our bride and groom around Windsor for their couple portraits, what a backdrop for your wedding photos! From Windsor Castle to the Long Walk, we had so much fun capturing some beautiful shots, the public were congratulating Claire & James as they were walking around with the biggest smile on their faces.

We headed back to The Boatman where the couple had booked a table, due to restrictions, we weren’t allowed in so we caught a few snaps of them enjoying their wedding breakfast. We ended the day by taking our couple over to the green at the foot of Windsor Castle, we took a few final photos before asking them what their first dance song would have been. They both agreed it would have been ‘Perfect, by Ed Sheehan, so we played it on our phone whilst the newlyweds danced on the lawn with the Castle in the distance, pure romance!!!

Thank you so much to Claire & James for letting us be a part of your day. We finally did it guys! And it was SO worth the wait!

Much love, J&K x
