Wedding at Woodlands Castle Somerset
I think we can say that our first wedding at Woodlands Castle in Taunton was a dream!! From the loveliest couple, to the prettiest blush wedding bouquet you ever did see and not to mention the pink tinted castle, this was a Somerset wedding at it’s very best!
When Dani and Sam contacted us about their spring wedding at Woodlands Castle, we got a little bit too excited at the site of this beautiful Somerset wedding venue. What a backdrop for a wedding! With 12 acres of parkland exclusively yours for the day and an amazing outdoor area for the ceremony, this is the very reason we wanted to be Somerset wedding photographers!
We met Dani and Sam and their two adorable children prior to their wedding at Woodlands Castle and listened to all their plans for the big day. Sam was choosing his own outfit so Dani had no idea what he was going to wear! She was over the moon with his choice on the day of navy suit with a blush cravat.
We met the bride and groom at Woodlands Castle and Kerrie headed to the bridal suite whilst James accompanied the guys to their hotel room. The couples daughter Ella got ready with the bridal party which made for the most adorable getting ready shots of mother and daughter. Ella kept peering out of the window to the guests waiting below and giving them a little wave. Sam made his way to Woodlands Castle and the ceremony began. Dani looked simply stunning in her Anna Sorrano wedding dress, holding her blush bouquet by Bloomingdivine, she made her way down the aisle accompanied by her father as ‘A Thousand Miles’ by The Piano guys played.
It was a beautiful ceremony, outdoor ceremonies are our new favourite! The light was just perfect, and the couples children were walking around enjoying the moment. Oh and did we mention the four legged guest? Oh we adore it when our couples have their dogs at their wedding! After the vows we headed for the all important confetti shot then we took Dani and Sam off for couple portraits on the stunning grounds at Woodlands Castle.
The couple had booked Archery by Brian Bland to keep their guests entertained, it went down really well. And the newlyweds even had a go themselves, their daughter was a natural!
Everyone headed into the garden pavilion for the evening reception. With cream jugs full of blush flowers, bunting and the tastiest looking wedding cake by The Silver Cake, the speeches were made and everyone enjoyed good food whilst the music played softly.
The new Mr & Mrs took to the dance floor and against the back drop of pretty light up letters of ‘Love’ they had their first dance. The DJ Geoff got the party started and we left everyone to dance the night away.
What a perfect start to our Somerset wedding season 2019. Thank you Mr & Mrs Potter for allowing us to be a part of your magical day. J & K x
It was great to work alongside Kien from KB wedding videography on the day, we can’t wait to see the final video.
