Wedding photographers in Somerset - Our 2019

Oh where to start?? What a year 2019 has been! Our first wedding season in Somerset has been A-Mazing! From eucalyptus confetti, a bride arriving to the ceremony on a tractor to our first wedding in Devon, it has been a rollercoaster of love, laugher and a whole lot if fun ! We always like to look back and reflect on another year of us being so fortunate to get to do a job we love and we are grateful to each and every one of our brides and grooms that allow us to be a part of their big day.

This year has certainly been life changing for us, we finally took the scary step and made that big move from London, where we had been living for the last 13 years, to beautiful Somerset. We had been dreaming about this for the last 4 or 5 years. Every year as we would put up that teeny Christmas tree in our even teenier flat in London Bridge, we would say to each other “This time net year we WILL have that house in the Country!” And we finally did it! Was it scary? You better believe it! But one mantra we try and live by is ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’. Nothing comes from staying inside your comfort zone, you have to chase your dreams with your whole heart. And boy was it worth it!

We have been so lucky to have photographed some amazing weddings in the South West this year, we have been blown away so far with the wedding venues here. From Upton Barn in Devon to Woodlands Castle in Somerset, they are all breathtaking! The wedding venues are one of the main reasons we moved 170 miles away to become Wedding Photographers in the South West.

And of course we have had a few weddings at our favourite London wedding venue, Kew Gardens. We are so honoured to be a supplier for them, not only is Kew one of the most iconic wedding venues to get married, but the team are absolutely fantastic!! From the impressive lake to our favourite spot the Rock Gardens, Kew is a stunning backdrop for your wedding day.

Engagement shoots have been on the rise this year. They are such good fun! It’s a great way for us and our couples to get to know each other a little better so they can feel more relaxed around us come wedding day. And we have some amazing locations here in Somerset for photo shoots! If you are considering whether you should book an engagement shoot or not, please check out our previous blog here

We hope you will join us on our next venture in 2020, from weddings at amazing venues such as Hestercombe Gardens in Somerset to the breathtaking Tunnels Beaches in Devon, and back to where we photographed our very first Somerset Wedding Orchardleigh Estate, 2020 is shaping up to be our busiest year yet! Not to mention it’s going to be our 10 year wedding anniversary in June!!! TEN YEARS!! Wow, what a journey it has been! For now, here is a selection from our best of 2019 from us doing what we love, creating perfect memories for you to keep forever!!

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us to photograph your wedding this year, to all the suppliers we have worked alongside, and to our fellow South West wedding Suppliers who have supported us and made us feel so welcome! We love you all!

Wishing you all a fantastic new year (and new decade!!), here’s hoping all your wildest dreams come true. We are here to cheer you on. J&K x
